- Former hotel converted into 47 serviced apartment units
- SORAVIA revitalizes three buildings in Munich for NUMA
Munich, May 14, 2024 – The NUMA Group, Europe’s leading operator of a fully digitized hospitality platform, is taking over 47 apartment units in Munich as part of a renovation project completed by SORAVIA. The real estate conglomerate SORAVIA is widely established across all industry sectors, with 97 hotels in operation and 51 hotels under development in the hospitality sector alone. The project volume amounts to 650 million euros. As an investor, SORAVIA is involved in NUMA’s European expansion.
The new NUMA Mona is located at Landwehrstraße 56, 80336 Munich and consists of 47 apartment units with a total gross floor area of 2,441 square meters. The Theresienwiese, where the world-famous Oktoberfest takes place, is only 200 meters away. Munich Central Station is a 10-minute walk away. Attractions in the Old Town such as the Frauenkirche, Marienplatz, and Viktualienmarkt are within a 20-minute walk. The operation of the former three-star hotel will proceed according to uniform NUMA standards. Building revitalization measures included the renewal of the complete building envelope, building services including risers, and the core renovation of the rooms. The building’s energy efficiency was also upgraded to KfW Standard 55. The start of operations for NUMA Mona is scheduled for July this year.
“Our portfolio in Munich is growing with NUMA Mona, a perfect fit for our urban concept. With SORAVIA, we have found a reliable partner in building revitalization, who is also an important investor for further NUMA expansion. More projects from this successful collaboration will be operational soon,” explains Dimitri Chandogin, CEO and Co-founder of NUMA Group.
In total, the renovation of three former hotels in Munich by SORAVIA for the NUMA Group is planned. Immediately after the handover of NUMA Mona at Landwehrstraße 56, construction measures at the building directly opposite at Landwehrstraße 65 will begin in May. Another renovation project at Schwanenthalerstr. 63 will start as soon as the building permit is issued.
“With its stake in the NUMA Group, SORAVIA is banking on a unique hospitality concept that combines the best features of traditional hotels with the flexibility of short-term rentals. With the revitalization series in Munich, we deepen our partnership with NUMA, one of the most promising startups in Europe. Our extensive expertise in project development and hospitality leads to synergies that benefit both companies,” explains Erwin Soravia, CEO of SORAVIA.
